I trained at the Bath Centre for Psychotherapy and Counselling (BCPC) and hold a Diploma in Humanistic and Integrative Counselling.
I have worked as a counsellor at the SWAN Project in Bristol, with Southside Family Project in Bath and as a practitioner with Make a Move, offering movement therapy to mothers with postnatal depression and anxiety.
I have a background in dance, performance and writing and am a home educating parent. I’m passionate about healing intergenerational trauma through parenting, and self directed and consent based learning. I have my own creative and mindful practices.
I came to train as a therapist after years of my own therapy from a young age, which had a revolving cast of practitioners and very little autonomy about who or what I worked on. I came away from this experience feeling that no-one had really ever heard me. After studying for a degree in Dance and Creative Writing and embarking on making performance work and touring I felt that it was the time to move in a different direction and started training to be a therapist. It felt important to me to learn to offer the safety, consistency and ability to really hear a person and their experiences.
I chose to train in integrative talking therapy; I wanted the base of talking after experiencing so much of that myself. I like that I can integrate other methods and techniques to suit the individuals I work with as I continue on my professional path.
