Counselling

I offer a calm, grounded, supportive presence. Relationship is central to the therapeutic process and it is essential to feel that we will be able to work together, creating a safe and confidential place for you to bring whatever brings you to therapy. You may be wanting to explore an issue in your life which is feeling uncomfortable or challenging, a sense of lostness and longing which feels less clear; feelings and thoughts you’d like to sit with and move through. We will work at your pace at the same time and place each week.

I offer humanistic, integrative therapy with a foundation in psychodynamics.

This means – I hold you at the centre of our work, valuing you as a unique individual who, with support, can find or uncover your own wisdom. My role is not to offer advice or opinions or judge you.

I am able to bring in other therapeutic models and methodologies such as mindfulness, breath work, body-mind connection and creative practices.

I am interested in your childhood, your earliest relationships and attachments and how these influence your current ways of relating and experiencing.

Initial Session

I offer a reduced rate for an initial session so we can meet each other and see if we are a good fit to work together. You may wish to meet with a number of practitioners.

In this first session I will take some details from you about your present situation and what brings you to therapy, your past experiences and history, along with practical discussion about the boundaries of our work, the duration and the process. In this session you can get a sense of me and how I work and ask any questions.

Duration

If we decide to go on working together, I offer both long and short term therapy. Usually the minimum is 12 weeks but we can discuss this and your needs.
